After Hollywood week, I learned quite a bit more about the contenders and the Top 24. Most of them have now been featured (and it’s going to be a tough road for those who haven’t been)… So without further ado, here’s my top 2nd installment of Top 24 Power Rankings

1. Andrew Garcia – I don’t think there’s any doubt he’s the favorite. I think his only concern might be setting the bar too high too early. I’ve seen lots of his stuff and think he’s got plenty of amazing performances left in him, but my ONLY worry is he’ll get a little stale after weeks and weeks… Plus, with Idol, you have to do a lot of different stuff… But he know’s who he is and has to be the leader.

Brent Keith – “Hicktown” by Jason Aldean

Love it?!  Vote for Brent on Idol Battles!

Brent Keith has made the top 36!  AWESOME!  Now he faces his toughest challenge yet.  He’ll be performing in the first group which is LOADED with stars like Anoop, Danny, Stephen, and Michael!  Only 2 of these guys CAN make it to the finals!  Why you ask?  Here’s how!

The voting will go like this.  The top guy and top girl vote getter from Tuesday’s show will make the top 12.  In addition, the next highest vote getter will make it.

There will be 3 group shows over the next 3 weeks.  There will then be a Wild Card Round in which the judges will pick the final 3 contestants who didn’t get voted in with the previous format.

Brent Keith (as he went by on Nashville Star) performing on the show.  He’s now a favorite on Idol and one of the best true country singers ever on Idol!

Brent Keith Smith did very well on season 2 of Nashville Star and gets off to an amazing start on his second chance with idol.  I’ve been hearing “better than Josh Gracin” thrown around, which is high praise.  What do you think?  I think with his charming good looks and amazing voice, he’s truly a force to be dealt with and one of the top contenders for the guys.
